In our villages and urban centers across Kenya, dogs roam freely on roadsides, markets, farms, and estates. People often talk about “their” dogs, yet these animals are left to wander for food, warmth, and shelter — searching for a safe place to sleep each night.
Despite being guardians of our homes, dogs are rarely given the dignity, attention, or care they deserve. Many families keep dogs for security, but not as living beings needing love, protection, or proper housing.
At SEPP Kenya International, we see this as more than an animal welfare crisis.
It is a community transformation opportunity.
Every neglected dog is a reflection of broken systems — poverty, lack of knowledge, and absence of accessible veterinary care. Our mission is to rewrite this story by helping families appreciate, nurture, and create decent homes for every dog.
We are building a new culture:
A culture where dogs are not just watchmen, but companions.
A culture where youth are trained as veterinary caregivers.
A culture where every homestead has a safe dog house.
A culture where compassion becomes a community value.
Together, we can change how society treats its most loyal friend.
